The transition to secondary school is a big time in a young person’s life. In addition to the excitement, starting secondary school can also bring about many questions, concerns, and new challenges for students and families. If your child is on the autism spectrum, we want to help you to make the transition to secondary school as seamless as possible.
This session will provide you with tips and guidance on how to work with your child and their primary & secondary schools to ensure the most appropriate supports are in place and that your child feels confident starting at their new school. Gain insight into what supports schools can offer and what might be possible to set your child up for success.
Following the presentation, there will be a live Q&A where you will have the opportunity to ask our psychologist any questions about your child’s transition
Sessions will be delivered by Katie Glynn, an Educational & Developmental Psychologist, who has years of experience working across primary, secondary, and special education school settings, supporting students and families to adjust to new teachers, classrooms, environments, peers, and more as they begin secondary school.
